Sailing

One two of the nice days in Borocay, we took advantage of some of the water activities.  I posted the helmet dive video, but we also got a 15 minute ride on a banana boat shortly before our dive.  I’d actually never seen or heard of a banana boat (if you haven’t, google it!).  It was incredibly cheesy, but we had a good time and a lot of laughs (and a few near falls!).  It turned out, 15 minutes was the perfect amount of time.  It was nice to get out in the ocean and see different views of the island.  Sadly, no pictures from this!

On Friday, the sun was shining and the tide was really high so we couldn’t relax on the beach.  We were approached by a lot of people about sailing, so we bargained our way onto a sailboat for an hour.  It only cost 100 pesos each ($2.50).  The guys that took us out were really nice and we enjoyed asking them questions while we sailed.  The views of the ocean and the island were breathtaking.  We even sailed by Manny Pacquiao’s house.  We would have never known about it had my friend not asked.  She pointed toward the area and asked which hotel it was, and that’s when the guy told us it wasn’t a hotel, but a house.  It was beautiful!

After sailing, we went swimming and explored Willy’s Point before having a low key lunch at Obama Bar and Grill.  By this time, it was around 2pm and we’d had enough of the sun.  Also, two of the girls in the group weren’t feeling well so we took them to the doctor before heading back to the hotel to rest for awhile.
