This was the first stop on my tour of the East side of Jeju island. It’s one of the places I was most excited to see. If you do a google seach for “Jeju island”, pictures of ‘Sunrise Peak’ are some of the first you will see (above photo is taken from there). The pictures I took do not do it justice. The way the sun was facing made it difficult to photograph.
It takes about 20-25 minutes to climb to the top, but it’s really not as bad as it sounds. It’s all stairs though, so it’s definitely a work out! We got passed up by tons of old ladies (adjummas). I enjoyed walking up with my new friends, and stopping at various lookout points to take pictures (aka…catch my breath!). The views were breathtaking going up. We spent about 20 minutes at the top admiring the view. There is an observation area at the top, and I’m sure it’s amazing to watch the sunrise there!
